Welcome to the very limited first drop of flashlights from Cobra Framebuilding. I’ve been developing an everyday carry flashlight for the past five months and I’m finally ready to sell the first pieces!
This light is designed to serve as an everyday carry light. I have carried a small flashlight on my hip for years and I would never go back. This isn’t the brightest, the lightest, or the most tech-forward light and that’s not the point. It’s also not a special application light. This is a simple and effective tool for general everyday use. It’s not so big that you mind carrying it and it’s reliable and straight forward enough to come through for you. If you’re going to carry something with you every single day, why not choose something that you feel is cool and special? To me, this is a special light and something I very much enjoy carrying.

A note about copper – this is a soft metal that dents and scratches easily. It also will lose it’s shine as it oxidizes from atmospheric exposure and exposure to the oils on your hands etc. I think that this is super cool. The titanium is scratch and dent resistant while being very corrosion resistant. When paired with copper the two are a very dynamic combination. The copper also has great thermal conductivity and was chosen in part for its ability to pull heat from the LED emitter. If you want a flashlight that is more impervious to dents, scratches, and oxidation, maybe this one isn’t for you.
A note about the metal tail switch button – this button uses two “quad rings” or X-profile rubber o-rings to seal moisture from entering the flashlight. This is not the most effective possible way to seal out moisture. If you plan on using the flashlight underwater on a regular basis – you might choose another light. This light uses o-rings at all interfaces between parts and is generally resistant to moisture, but the metal tail switch button was chosen for feel and aesthetic over pure, optimal, moisture-sealing performance. This is a trade I happily make for myself because I don’t think I’ve ever needed to use my EDC light under water and I love the snappy feel and sound. I also think it looks super cool. If your needs are different, take this information into consideration!
